5月9日，如市場意料之中，英國央行固定利率在5.25% 不變，維持2008年以來高利環境。 不過，決策委員會中兩名委員贊成削減 0.25 個百分點，比上次會議上僅一位增加。 

此外，該行上調經濟成長預測，但下修通脹估值。 預計利率將降至 3.75%，經濟在第一季成長 0.4%，第二季成長 0.2%，但需求面可能會落後於供給，造成延滯效果。 地緣政治帶來潛在風險，但消費者物價指數預期很快將穩定在 2% 的目標附近。 貨幣政策委員會重申緊縮貨幣政策的重要性，須確保通脹可回穩到2%，以數據主導政策方向。
